The CQI exam requires more than simply remembering inspection terms and definitions. Candidates need to interpret drawings and specifications, select appropriate measuring and inspection equipment, understand calibration requirements, apply basic statistical techniques, evaluate inspection results, and choose the most appropriate action in practical quality situations. ASQ’s current CQI exam is based on the 2025 Certified Quality Inspector Body of Knowledge.

Even experienced inspectors can find this challenging because workplace experience does not always translate directly into answering multiple-choice certification questions under time pressure.

These practice questions are designed to reflect the type of thinking required for the ASQ Certified Quality Inspector (CQI) exam. Each question presents four plausible options and tests your ability to identify the best answer.

Every question includes a clear explanation that:
